This morning when my alarm went off at 5:30 a.m., I didn’t even hit snooze. I turned the alarm off and rolled over, planning on sleeping for another hour. I was exhausted and didn’t want to run.
But then I remembered that I have plans for tonight and I needed to get a workout in this morning, so I pulled myself out of bed to go for a run. I’m so glad I did!
Yesterday was a long day in the legal world and a run was exactly what I needed. I love running in the city in the morning because it’s so peaceful; the only people out are other runners.
I ran down to the lake and it was absolutely gorgeous. I didn’t run with my camera, so this is the only picture I have (I took this walking Milo a few months ago):
This is the top of the hill, which I ran down to run right along the lake. It was beyond beautiful along the lake — the boats were in the marina, the skyline was amazing, and I ran by the Art Museum, which of course, made me think of getting to marry my best friend in a little over a year.
This run was exactly what I needed and reminded me why I love running so much. The only thing that would have made it better would be if I had James with me.
I ended up getting in 5 miles in just under 50 minutes, which was perfectly fine with me.
Such a great way to start the day, I’m so thankful that I live in this beautiful city and have the ability to run through it.
Have a wonderful day everyone!!
