Happy Sunday night! This is going to be a wedding-heavy post, so first, let me update you on Insanity.
We completed the first week this week, and I love it! It’s actually not as hard as I remember, which either means I’m in better shape, or that I’m not pushing myself hard enough. Either way, I’ve decided I’m going to push myself extra hard during week two and keep getting better.
I also got a chance to run outside in our neighborhood and the neighborhood across the street today. My pace was much faster than I planned, so I was pretty happy with that. I was also so happy running outside — I love running outside, it’s my favorite form of working out, and I love the area we live in. Running through neighborhoods is the best!
Now, onto the good stuff.
We were pretty productive with wedding related items this week and weekend. All of my bridesmaids ordered their dresses, and I am so happy with the color and styles we decided on. We went with two different dresses, and my bridesmaids will be wearing them in alternating order. Here are the two dresses:
Both dress will be in Ivy, which is a bit more vibrant than the green above. I can’t wait until these come in and I can see them in person.
Second, we had engagement pictures at our home on Thursday. We got some great pics with Milo and of the house, so I am so excited to see them. Hopefully I can share some with you when they come in.
Third, we did cake tasting and picked out flowers this weekend. We are using Rick’s Bakery in Milwaukee for both the cake and flowers, so we got it all figured out on Saturday.
Our colors for the wedding are green, blue, and white, so the flowers in my bouquet are white hydrangeas, bells of ireland, and delphiniums.
We also picked out our centerpieces which are going to include white candles, green crystals, and the delphiniums to continue our green, blue, and white theme.
And for the cake — whoa! This cake was good, and I don’t like cake at all! We tried six different flavors and four different fillings: german chocolate, milk chocolate, chocolate truffle (James wanted to make sure we picked the best chocolate), butter pecan, french vanilla, and carrot with fillings of raspberry, cream cheese, french vanilla mousse, and chocolate mousse.
(Luckily, we went to my grandma’s after the tasting and were able to give some of the leftover cake to her and my parents, who were also there).
We decided on the chocolate truffle with raspberry filling, french vanilla with a bavarian cream and fresh strawberries, and butter pecan with a buttercream filling.
As far as the cake itself, it will be four tiers, decorated with white icing, green ribbons between the second and third tiers, with delphiniums throughout the cake.
It’s so nice to have more of the wedding details done. We have been so relaxed about doing wedding stuff (honestly, we’re more concerned with the house right now), so getting a few more things done in a very relaxed, laid back manner has been great. Next up, picking tuxes for the guys, but I think we are taking a bit of a wedding break after all this productiveness
Finally, speaking of weddings, I want to send a HUGE congrats to my best friend Molly, who just got engaged this weekend! I am beyond excited for her and her amazing fiance and can’t wait to talk weddings with her for the next year or so Congrats Mol!!!
That’s it for tonight. Tomorrow I’ll be back with some movies, a book, and maybe a house update? Have a great Monday!
