Morning everyone and day two of another week!
Holy Missy Franklin, huh? She was pretty awesome last night. I also enjoying watched the men’s team gymnastics (and there was some controversy!). The women’s team gymnastics is tonight!! So pumped!
James and I were actually gone all weekend to James’s hometown to visit his family (and he attended a bachelor party), so we got back pretty late Sunday evening, and I still haven’t caught up on sleep, so I’m a little tired.
(Sidenote, I saw Magic Mike this weekend too, which I thought was pretty entertaining. If you want a review that is aligned with my thoughts on it, here you go.)
Anyway, it’s perfect that I have a pre-determined topic for today’s post, so there is very little thinking involved this morning
It’s Foodie Pen Pal reveal day!
Thanks, Lindsay, for hosting. All the details for Foodie Pen Pal are at the bottom of this post, but first, let’s get to the goods!
Jessika from Nohe’a Ola sent me this amazing book from Seattle, Washington, and I was so excited to open it!
When I opened the book, some of the first items I noticed were the raspberry jam and gourmet cookies, both from Washington.
I love jam, and this one was (still is, it’s not gone yet) absolutely delicious. And the cookies! I immediately ate one before I finished going through the box.
Milo clearly thought it was for him. No joke, James and I finished this entire box in 24 hours. So so good!
Next, I came across some ingredients for Jessika’s pumpkin oat loaf.
The oat loaf looks really really good, but unfortunately, since we have been moving, I haven’t had eggs in the apartment (or really any groceries for that matter) for the past few weeks. However, we are grocery shopping today, and this loaf is the first thing I am making. I always have oatmeal for breakfast, so it will be so nice to add some variety to my typical breakfast. Plenty of pictures to come when I make it.
On a side note though, I was so excited to get Justin’s Peanut Butter. I have heard so much about this brand, and it does not disappoint. James loves it, Milo loves it, and the honey flavor — which Jessika sent me — is perfect because I always add peanut butter and honey to my oatmeal. This takes care of that with one scoop!
She also sent me this chocolate peanut butter bar, which was so good! It has 100% of your daily vegetables, but I couldn’t tell at all. All I could taste was chocolate-y, peanut butter-y goodness.
Finally, one of the reasons I love the Foodie Pen Pal program so much is because everyone is so sweet and takes the time to check out my blog before sending my box. This is my second month of Foddie Pen Pals, and for the second time, even little Milo got a treat. It warms my heart that both of my Foodie Pen Pals so far have thought of him, too, because as you know, he’s the love of my life
He absolutely loved this cookie treat. I was going to give him only half, but he was so cute that I let him spoil his dinner with the whole thing.
Milo and I were both very impressed with this box. Once again, Foodie Pen Pals has proved to be such a highlight of my month. I opened this box after a day of stressful moving and it immediately put a smile on my face.
Thank you so much Jessika, we loved everything!!
