Two Milwaukee related posts in a row?
Doing the Great Milwaukee Race on Saturday really made me realize how much I love this city. Molly and I even commenting (as we were running) that we think Milwaukee is such a cool city and it’s great to get to places in the city that we wouldn’t typically go.
James and I are actually moving outside the city in a few months, so we can still get downtown whenever we want (and we’ll both still work downtown), but it won’t be the same as living right here.
So there are a few things that I want to do before we move — a Milwaukee Bucket List, if you will.
First, I want to go to Jazz in the Park in Cathedral Square. Every Thursday, Jazz bands play in the park and you can get wine and food and just listen to music. Every summer, James and I talk about going. But this will be our fourth summer together and we still haven’t been! So we are definitely going to Jazz in the Park this summer.
Second, I want to get some food from the food trucks. There are several food trucks throughout the city, but I have never eaten at any of them. I’m really hoping to try out Streetza Pizza. Luckily, Food Truck Fridays moved to Red Arrow Park, which James and I can easily get to for lunch.
Third, I want to run the Bastille Days 5k. I finally went to Bastille Days for the first time last year, and this year I want to “Storm the Bastille.” This one I know for sure I will do because I signed James and I up yesterday! Yay for accomplishing at least one thing on the bucket list.
Fourth, I want to walk to two of our favorite places — Cafe on the Plaza for brunch and Buckley’s for dinner. We love those two places and they are so close! I want to take advantage of living so close to them before we move.
I think that’s it for now. I might think of a few more, or I may come up with unofficial bucket list items, but I for sure want to accomplish those four before I move. Dream big, right? (Sarcasm because obviously those are all fun things and not something I need to work hard to accomplish).
I think it’s important to explore your city, so I’m looking forward to fully enjoying this amazing downtown before we move.
Well, time for the rose ceremony on the Bachelorette. Not looking good for Team Laurie….
