Don’t worry, these tangents aren’t all about the election. Only one. Here we go:
1. And by election, it’s really just a voting tangent. And by voting, I mean it’s a tangent about my irrational fear of teenagers. My polling location was at a local high school, and I went to vote around 3 p.m. when all the kids were leaving school. I would just like to say that, yes, I am 26 years old. And yes, I called James so I could be on the phone as I walked through all the HS kids so I wouldn’t have to make eye contact. Yes, I am afraid of teenagers apparently. Oops.
2. How adorable is this guy?
He’s extra snuggly tonight, and apparently, still wanted to play ball when he came to bed. Poor fella.
3. My mom gave me this book to read, and it’s super interesting.
It’s about five different immigrant families in New York in the early 1900′s, and it talks about their cultures and foods and has some recipes. I’m really enjoying it.
4. I need to join a gym. Running only on the weekends now (since we moved out of our apt and have no access to that gym) is not enough. It’s too dark in the mornings and at night during the week — I need a treadmill in my life! Plus, I need to keep running for the Ice Breaker Relay!
5. This is a new-to-me beer in the Leinenkugel’s Autumn variety pack.
This is not an Autumn beer — it’s for sure meant for summer. It’s delicious, but doesn’t flow with the typical Oktoberfests. But come next July, this will be heaven!
6. Watched another movie. 21 Jump Street is awesome. I laughed a lot, I was thoroughly entertained, there is an amazing moment near the end, and when I rewatched portions with James, I said “this is my favorite part” literally four different times. It’s funny, check it out. As always, go see what Staci had to say about it.

7. I’m going to be trying out some crockpot recipes in the next few days since my mexican chicken was such a success, so be on the lookout for those!
That’s it for tonight! See you tomorrow!

Love 21 Jump Street. Joshua and I were cracking up almost the whole time.
So much funnier than I expected!
Happy Wednesday, Laurie! I stayed up a bit longer to see the results and yet still woke up at the same time this morning..I swear I have an internal clock. Anyways, Kona and Milo need to have a heart to heart talk. Kona’s been getting no play time and is always curled up on my lap or some place where I can CLEARLY see how miserable he looks. I played hide n go seek with him the other day and that was quite fun and stimulating for him! You should try it w Milo
.
And that book truly sounds like something I’d enjoy reading! Thanks for sharing! Come December, I intend to read A LOT of books unrelated to school! Hope you have a wonderful day! Your fear of teenagers cracked me up hehe
Haha yeah Milo definitely needs his cuddle time or he gets peeved. This book is super interested, and I think I’m going to try one of the recipes tonight!
So much good stuff in this post!
I get the teenager thing. It’s a weird phase and they can be so mean! I’m not a fan either. Generalizing of course.
Milo bear is so cute!
When I was in Green Bay last year I bought the Leinenkugel’s raspberry (I think). It was so good, and that one sounds good too. Again, not really a fall/winter beer, but that’s OK.
And last, thanks for the 21 jump street tip, we’re always looking for movies to watch. Watched the 5 Year Engagement last weekend, so cute!
Have a great wednesday!
Teenagers are terrible
I still need to see the Five Year Engagement — I love Jason Segel, so it’s on my list!
21 jump street is hilarious. I am so lucky my building has such a great gym we get to use whenever we want. no need to a join a gym!
I know, I already miss having a gym in my building
I LOVED 21 jump street. And way more than I thought I would. It much be Channing Tamum
My dream man, sorry Brenton!
The crock pot is my thing, so I can’t wait to see your recipes.
Haha that’s hilarious, but I’m sure he understands
I’m hoping to get to some recipes this weekend or next week!
I don’t think I’d like to be in a high school right when all the kids were getting out either! Sounds chaotic!
It was scary! Or maybe I’m just crazy
I’m dating myself – I was a big fan of the 21 Jumpstreet TV show. Ooo…Johnny Depp! The bad boy
Snuggling with a pup is the best!
I’ve never seen the show, so I didn’t have anything to compare it, too, but I love that you watched it!
Ok renting 21 jump street! I’ve been wanting to watch a funny movie! I just bought the NinJa cockpot and making dinner every night with the slow cooker function. I would love to try some of your recipes
By the way TJ Max has great workout gear for affordable prices definitely check it out if you don’t find a gym you enjoy. Love and shine courtstar
Definitely rent it! It’s fun humor. And I’ll have to check of TJ Maxx, thanks for the tip!
That book looks like something I would really enjoy! I’m going to have to see if the local library has it.
